Another funny video from our friend Fernando. Today he is talking about his family’s history and legacy in cigars. Many of the premium cigar companies have a rich family history in the premium cigars business.

Many of the early cigar families fled cuba and the communist regime of Fidel Castro. They were forced to resettle in places like Miami, Nicaragua, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. This led to the birth of the modern day cigars industry outside of Cuba.

Cuban Embargo

The United States embargo against Cuba (dubbed by its opponents in Cuba and Latin America as el bloqueo, Spanish for “the blockade”) is a commercial, economic, and financial embargo partially imposed on Cuba in October 1960 (almost two years after the Batista regime was deposed by the Cuban Revolution.) It was enacted after Cuba nationalized the properties of United States citizens and corporations and it was strengthened to a near-total embargo on February 7, 1962.
