Tatuaje TAA blend – best cigars 2011
Only 1500 boxes of this cigar were made by Pete Johnson and Tatuaje for members of the Tobacconist Association of America (TAA). Most TAA blends get little interest but this one has gone off the charts as one of the best cigars of the year. This cigar has medium strength with full body flavor.
This cigar was made in Don Pepin Garcia’s My Father factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. The blend features a dark, oily broadleaf wrapper, the binder and filler is based on the original brown label Tatuaje cigars. This cigar is the first release of annual Tatuaje TAA blend cigars. Look for another great one next year!
Padron Family Reserve 85th Maduro – best cigars 2011
The latest release in the Padron Family Reserve line is slightly smaller than the others at 5 ¼ x 50. This blend smokes a little stronger than previous releases and is fantastic. This blend is sure to receive high ratings. The 85th celebrates Jose O. Padron’s 85th birthday. Padron special blends are always among the best cigars made.
La Palina El Diario – best cigars 2011
This company is a new boutique brand to the cigar industry. The El Diario is a fabulous blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos creating a richly flavored medium body cigar. The Honduran Rosado wrapper compliments the Nicaraguan Corojo and Criollo filler. The double binders from Honduras help create a very balanced cigar. This heavy duty full body cigar was one of the surprise hits of 2011. At 8.5×60 it is huge and people love it. The smoking time averages around 3 hours so it is a good value if you are ok with smoking the same cigar for that long.
